Remembering Nikos Drakos:
It is always very difficult to announce the loss of a person. How much more so when it comes to a man, who was above all a friend, and then everything else: a scientist, a technocrat, a connoisseur, a scholar, a pioneer, a "mind" among the few, an excellent partner. He had a devotion to music and often "decorated" his words with verses, showing the breadth of knowledge and culture that characterized him.
Nikos Drakos, was President of ISACA Athens Chapter. He had dedicated more than 20 years of his life to Information Systems Control. His experience, mainly in the National Bank and Eurobank Groups, was invaluable. Specializing in cyber security, he has participated in more than 200 IT audits, protecting critical systems and data.
His career included important positions such as IT Manager and Information Security Head in IT companies. His knowledge, dedication and passion for IT security have made him one of the leading professionals in his field.
Nikos was an ISACA platinum level professional, holding numerous professional titles including CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CDPSE, CRISC and CISA Accredited Trainer. In addition, he had certifications from Microsoft and CISCO, which confirmed the continuous search for knowledge and excellence.
The IT and Cybersecurity community has lost a true leader, a man who always sought to innovate and improve security processes. Nikos Drakos was more than a professional. He was a mentor, partner and friend.
He leaves behind a heavy and unique legacy, which will continue to inspire and guide generations of professionals to come. The IT world is poorer without Nikos, but his contribution will live on in the memory of all those who had the honor of working with him.
This was Nikos Drakos, a pioneer in Information Technology and Cybersecurity, with a heavy legacy and invaluable contribution to the digital industry.
Goodbye friend Niko.
